DIVERSE ABILITIES TASTER DAYS FOR 2024

Our taster days were a great success and Edgworth Bowling Club is inviting people who have difficulty bowling due to illness, injury or diverse abilities to join us for taster days in 2024.  We have plenty of equipment to give you a hand:

Dates for 2024 are:

25th May, 22nd June, 20th July and 17th August.

Your injury may be serious such as recovery from stroke, or you just find bending difficult due to back or knee problems and require a bowling aid.

The taster days are great for anyone who has bowled previously but feels unable to continue and also for anyone who has never bowled but would like to give it a try to help with rehabilitation and wellbeing following illness or injury.  Take advantage of the recuperative effects of fresh air, friendship and the equipment available.

(If you do not have any specific requirements and just wish to join the club or try bowling, please see further information HERE)

We would like to show you the aids we have available to help you bowl, such as “bowling arms”, green friendly wheelchairs and walkers.  You can have a go with help from our volunteers if you wish.  We have now installed two handrails at the side of the steps down to the bowling green and we have aids (hoops, targets, cones etc) available for people to use in order to improve their game.

Please note – it is essential to register for the diverse abilities taster days as numbers are limited but you do not have to be a resident of Edgworth to take part.  Enquiries from groups are welcome.

Would you like to give it a try and improve your health and wellbeing in 2024?

whether your are an individual or a group, please contact the Club Secretary, Andy, for an informal chat on 07482 628500 or email at [email protected]

Our last group of 2023, Bolton Allsports Club for young people with diverse needs had an enjoyable morning bowling: (one of several sessions they had during the year).
