GENERAL INFORMATION
The Edgworth Crown Green Bowling Club, is a Private Members’ Club based at The Barlow and is over 100 years old – founded in 1900.
We have around one hundred members and provide bowling for all levels of skill from beginners to county standards. With both social and competitive bowling, members can decide whether they wish to participate in one or both. Coaching is available for anyone who has not played before or wishes to improve their game.
We have bowling teams playing in Bolton, Darwen, Blackburn and Ramsbottom Leagues. This enables all members of varied skill and experience the chance to participate in several games each week.
The green is open for bowling from the beginning of April to end of September and provides a pleasant location to while away a sunny afternoon. Drinks and beverages are available to members from the clubhouse.
During the closed winter period, bowling takes place on the Cricket Club multi-use games area (MUGA) and members also take part in bowling holidays abroad, most notably in Cyprus in November and February each year.
There is an annual fee for membership (currently £40) with a small extra fee when taking part in league matches. Membership is non-discriminatory.
The club is self-financed and members can volunteer to take part in various tasks including gardening and green maintenance.
The club is affiliated to the British Crown Green Bowling Association and registered with the various area league organisations in which we participate.

We have held a number of taster sessions, under the guidance of club members, for those persons with diverse abilities who wish to take part. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, either as an individual or group, please contact the Club Secretary.
