Dear Members

Welcome to the new summer season of bowling at EBC.

Website

Our new website is growing in content, The old website will no longer be updated and will be closed down once all required data has been transferred over.

We now have a Green Availability calendar, which will show the same as the Club diary, i.e. League matches, Competitions, Mowing, Green Hire etc.

Note that the Green can only be booked for an activity via the Club Secretary.  It is no longer necessary to use the shared spreadsheet that was mandated during Covid.  Just turn up to bowl based on the Website calendar.  Click HERE to access the calendar.

Match Jacks

The 4 black match Jacks have been re-certified and are valid until December 2028.  The 4 yellow Jacks are still in date until 2025.

Reminder for Team Captains

Please ensure all your match squad have paid their 2022 membership fees and that everyone is registered with the relevant League Secretary, prior to their first game for your team.

Remember also that you are responsible for collecting Match fees (which remain as £1 per player, home or away) and transferring the money to the Club on a monthly basis.

Also, there have been some updates to the BCGBA rules of the game.  A full set of rules have been printed out and are displayed on the outside noticeboard, plus they are available via the BCGBA link on the Club website or here.  Please ensure you are aware of the updates and cascade to your teams as necessary.

Changes to the Constitution

The Committee have reviewed the current constitution and have identified several proposed changes.  In order to gain full member support for the details and reasoning behind the proposals, we would like to involve the membership in discussions.  Please contact me if you are willing to participate in this.  We can then have an EGM to fully accept the audited accounts and vote on the proposed constitution updates.

Happy bowling,
