Dear Ken and Brenda
Fundraising for EBC and The Stroke Association
I hope you are both keeping well.
Firstly I must apologise for not having written to you earlier regarding the outcome of your fundraising activities on behalf of Edgworth Bowling Club and The Stroke Association.
Quantifying the amounts raised has taken longer than anticipated and has not been helped by the untimely passing of our Treasurer, Ian Harvey, and also Robert having been abroad prior to the end of the year and being ill during January.
On behalf of Edgworth Bowling Club, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to you, Angela and her team of volunteers for all your efforts over the last three years which have resulted in significant donations being made which will assist us in meeting the objectives of the campaign. Your efforts and the support of your team have been invaluable, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to making a positive impact to our club and community.
Overall the funds raised total c£12,000 of which c£4,600 will be given to The Stroke Association. Robert has contacted them and we will be organising a “handing over of funds” event to which both you and Brenda will be invited.*
Your efforts have played a crucial role in allowing us to make a number of improvements to EBC facilities which in turn have provided us with the opportunity to offer bowling to persons of diverse abilities. Numerous bowling aids have been acquired and we will shortly be collecting a second Bradshaw Buggy, which will allow us to continue to help those in need during the years ahead.
Your belief in the success of this venture has been inspiring and has encouraged all of us at the Club to make this activity a success.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and kindness. Your support makes a significant difference, and we are privileged to have had your commitment to the club.
